Buying broken phones in Belgrade — yes, we buy damaged phones too
Do you have a phone with a cracked screen, a weak battery or some other fault, and think it's worth nothing? Think again. Viper Mobile buys faulty iPhone and Samsung phones in Belgrade — even those with significant damage. Payment is immediate, in cash or by bank transfer. The full offer and conditions are on the phone buyback Belgrade page, and if your device is fully working, also take a look at our guide on how to get the best price.
We are located at Bulevar Arsenija Čarnojevića 91, apartment 3, New Belgrade. The assessment takes 10-20 minutes and is completely free — even if we don't agree on a price, you haven't lost anything.
Which faults do we accept?
We buy phones with the following damage:
Cracked screen
The most common reason for buying a phone with a cracked screen. Whether only the glass is cracked or the display is completely black — we'll buy it. A phone with a cracked screen loses 20-40% of its market value depending on the severity of the damage and the model.
Weak battery
A battery below 80% health is to be expected after 2-3 years of use. This is a minor fault that has minimal impact on the buyback price (5-10% less) because battery replacement is relatively inexpensive.
Damaged housing and back glass
Scratches, cracks on the back glass, a damaged frame — we accept all of this. The impact on the price depends on the severity of the damage, usually 5-15% less.
Faulty speaker, microphone or camera
Software or hardware problems with sound and the camera don't drastically affect the buyback price because these are relatively simple repairs.
Charging problems
A faulty lightning/USB-C port is a common fault that doesn't significantly affect the phone's value.
What reduces the price drastically?
Some faults significantly reduce the buyback value:
- FRP lock (Factory Reset Protection) — the phone is locked to a previous Google account. The buyback price is 50-70% lower
- iCloud lock (Activation Lock) — an iPhone locked to someone else's Apple ID. The price drops drastically because unlocking is complex
- Water damage — corrosion on internal components can be unpredictable. The price depends on the extent of the damage
- Multiple faults — a combination of a cracked screen, weak battery and damaged housing means a greater loss of value
What do we NOT buy?
- Phones older than 5-6 years (e.g. iPhone 8 and older, Samsung S10 and older) — extremely low market value
- Phones without proof of ownership — you must be able to unlock the phone or show proof of purchase
- Phones of questionable origin — we only buy with proof of ownership
How is the price of a faulty phone determined?
The buyback price is calculated based on:
- Market value of a working model — the starting point is the price of the same model in working condition
- Type and severity of the fault — a cracked screen takes off 20-40%, a weak battery 5-10%, FRP/iCloud lock 50-70%
- Condition of the rest of the phone — if everything else is in excellent condition, we deduct less
- Storage capacity and colour — more storage = higher price
- Completeness — the original box and charger are not mandatory but do raise the price slightly
Example calculation
| Scenario | Working price | Deduction | Buyback price |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 15 Pro, cracked screen | ~55,000 | -30% | ~38,000 |
| Galaxy S24 Ultra, weak battery | ~65,000 | -10% | ~58,000 |
| iPhone 14, cracked screen + weak battery | ~35,000 | -40% | ~21,000 |
| Galaxy S23, FRP lock | ~25,000 | -60% | ~10,000 |
Note: these are approximate examples. The exact price is determined by inspecting the phone.
The buyback process — step by step
- Bring in the phone — come to Bulevar Arsenija Čarnojevića 91, apartment 3, New Belgrade. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 10am-3pm
- Free assessment — a technician inspects the phone for 10-20 minutes and determines the condition of all components
- Offer — you get a specific figure. If it doesn't suit you — there's no obligation, we return the phone
- Immediate payment — if you accept the offer, payment is made right away in cash or by bank transfer
No appointment needed — just drop by during opening hours. If you can't come in person, send the phone by courier service for 1,500 RSD (we cover all of Belgrade).
Why sell a faulty phone instead of throwing it away?
- Money instead of a drawer — even a faulty phone is worth money. A Galaxy S24 with a cracked screen can be worth 30,000-50,000 RSD
- Trade-in contribution — we can approve bonuses if you use the funds right away for a repair or to buy another phone
- Environmentally friendly — phones contain rare metals and materials. It's better to recycle or repair them than to throw them away
- Fast and hassle-free — the whole process takes 20-30 minutes
Frequently asked questions
Do you buy phones with cracked screens?
Yes. Phones with cracked screens are the most common category we buy. The buyback price is usually 20-40% lower than the price of a working model, depending on whether only the glass or the display as well is damaged.
How much can I get for a faulty phone?
The price depends on the model, the type of fault and the overall condition. For newer models (iPhone 15/16, Galaxy S24/S25) with a cracked screen, the buyback price can be 30,000-60,000 RSD. For older models with more serious damage — from 5,000 RSD. We determine the exact price by inspection.
Do I have to unlock the phone before selling it?
Yes, the phone must be signed out of iCloud (iPhone) or the Google account (Samsung). If you can't sign out, the price will be significantly lower. We can help you sign out on the spot if you know the account password.
What if I don't have the receipt for the phone?
It's enough that you can unlock the phone and sign out of your account — that confirms ownership for us. If you're not sure what you need, give us a call or bring the phone in and we'll check on the spot.
Do you also buy tablets?
Yes, we buy iPad and Samsung tablets — working and faulty. The rules are the same as for phones.
Can I send the phone by post?
For Belgrade — yes, a courier will collect the phone for 1,500 RSD. For the rest of Serbia, contact us at 065/362-61-31 to arrange the details.
Can I trade in a faulty phone towards a repair?
Yes! If you bring in an old faulty phone for buyback, you can use the funds immediately for the repair of another phone or to buy a new one. We often approve a bonus for combinations like this.

Buying faulty phones — real examples from practice
To help you better understand how buying faulty phones works, here are a few real examples from our shop:
Example 1: iPhone 15 Pro with a cracked screen
A customer brought in an iPhone 15 Pro with a completely shattered screen — glass and display. The phone was unusable because the screen showed nothing. All other functions worked (sound, vibration, camera flash). Buyback price: 38,000 RSD. For comparison, the same model in working condition is worth around 55,000-60,000 RSD.
Example 2: Galaxy S24 Ultra with a weak battery
A Galaxy S24 Ultra in excellent physical condition, but the battery only lasts 3-4 hours. Battery health below 75%. Since battery replacement is relatively inexpensive (8,000 RSD), the buyback price was only 10% below market: 58,000 RSD.
Example 3: iPhone 14 with a cracked screen + weak battery
A combination of two faults reduces the price by more than the sum of the individual deductions. In this case, the phone in working condition is worth around 35,000 RSD. Buyback price: 21,000 RSD (a 40% deduction).
The difference between buyback and consignment sale
Many people confuse buyback with consignment sale. Here are the key differences:
| Feature | Buyback (Viper) | Consignment sale |
|---|---|---|
| Payment | Immediate | When it sells (days/weeks/months) |
| Risk | On us | On you (it may never sell) |
| Price | 10-20% below market | Potentially higher, but uncertain |
| Hassle | None — you come in, you get the money | Waiting, negotiating, returns |
We recommend buyback for anyone who wants a fast, secure transaction without waiting. If you have the time and patience, a consignment sale (e.g. on KupujemProdajem) may bring a somewhat higher price, but with an unpredictable selling time.
How to prepare your phone for buyback?
Before you bring your phone in for buyback, we recommend:
- Back up your data — save your photos, contacts and important files to the cloud or a computer
- Sign out of your accounts — especially important for iCloud (iPhone) and the Google account (Samsung). You must do this before a factory reset
- Factory reset — if possible, wipe the phone back to factory settings. If the phone doesn't work, we'll do it
- Remove the SIM card and memory card
- Bring the original packaging — not mandatory, but it slightly raises the price (500-1,000 RSD)
Phone buyback for businesses and companies
If you have several faulty phones (fleet replacement, corporate devices), we offer special terms for B2B buyback. For larger quantities we can arrange collection at your address. Contact us at 065/362-61-31 for a corporate offer.

An alternative to buyback — repair it and keep using it
Before you sell a faulty phone, consider: would a repair pay off better? Here's the calculation:
Let's say you have a Galaxy S24 with a cracked screen. The buyback price is around 25,000-30,000 RSD. But a screen replacement costs 16,000 RSD — after which you have a fully functional phone worth 50,000-55,000 RSD. The difference is obvious: by repairing it you "earn" 20,000+ RSD compared to selling it to us.
Of course, sometimes buyback is the better choice — if you want a new model, if the phone has multiple faults, or you simply want quick cash without waiting. We won't push you in either direction — we give you both options and you decide.
