How the screen shows in iOS after installation

iPhone keeps a parts history in Settings > General > About (the “Parts and Service History” section). Depending on the screen type, it may show Genuine, Used, or “Unknown Part.” None of these labels affect how the phone works — display, touch and all functions work normally.

iPhone XS Screen Replacement — An OLED Model That Demands Precision

The iPhone XS carries a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED panel with True Tone support and HDR display. As on its predecessor there is no physical button but a Face ID system — so a screen replacement requires exceptional care in order for the face recognition sensors to keep working correctly. With 22 years of experience, at Viper Mobile we perform this procedure routinely and reliably.

An iPhone XS panel is not interchangeable with an iPhone X panel even though the two models share a screen size — which is why we order and track the screen separately for each of them.

Two Panel Quality Levels

For the iPhone XS we offer two options:

  • InCell — an LCD-based panel that delivers solid functionality, but without the deep blacks characteristic of OLED screens. 7-day warranty.
  • OLED — a new aftermarket OLED panel that brings back deep blacks, high contrast and wide viewing angles close to factory quality. 7-day warranty.

The warranty period is tracked with the service receipt (VPR number).

Recommendation and Installation Details

The screen replacement takes 1 to 3 hours — you can book an appointment in advance or simply come to Bulevar Arsenija Čarnojevića 91/3 in New Belgrade and wait. For the iPhone XS we recommend the replacement OLED panel — of the two available options it is closer to the original experience of this model, with deeper contrast and more faithful colors than the LCD alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions About Screen Replacement

How long does iPhone screen replacement take?

iPhone screen replacement takes 1 to 3 hours depending on the model. Devices brought in before noon are usually ready the same day. For urgent cases, call us to check part availability.

Will I lose my data during iPhone screen replacement?

No. Screen replacement does not affect your data, photos, apps, or settings on your iPhone. We never erase anything and never ask for your unlock code.

What's the difference between original and OLED screens for iPhone?

Original (Genuine Apple) screens show 'Genuine Apple' status in settings, True Tone works automatically. Soft OLED and Hard OLED are quality alternatives at a lower price — True Tone works because we transfer IC data using a programmer tool (free with replacement). Soft OLED also supports ProMotion 120Hz. InCell LCD is a budget option without True Tone, fixed at 60Hz.

Does True Tone work after iPhone screen replacement?

Yes — with both original and OLED screens (Soft OLED, Hard OLED). For OLED screens, we transfer True Tone data from the original screen using a programmer tool, included free with every replacement. Only InCell LCD screens (budget option for older models) do not support True Tone.

What is the warranty on iPhone screen replacement?

Screen replacement carries a 90-day warranty on original and premium panels. The warranty covers material and installation defects. Mechanical damage (drops, impacts) is not covered. Exception: aftermarket InCell and OLED panels carry a 7-day warranty due to panel fragility — they are installed only with the customer's prior consent.
