Samsung batteries — how long do they last and when should you replace them?
Samsung batteries are generally solid, but they too have a shelf life. As with the iPhone, expect around 2-3 years of normal use before performance starts to drop. Samsung even gives you a battery health reading — go to Settings → Battery → Battery Health (on newer models).
The signs that it is time for a replacement are the same as on the iPhone: fast draining, shutdowns at a high percentage, overheating, and worst of all — a swollen battery. If you notice the screen or back glass lifting away from the frame, bring the phone in for service URGENTLY.

Samsung vs iPhone — differences in battery replacement
One of Samsung's advantages when it comes to service: battery replacement is simpler and cheaper. Samsung uses standard adhesive battery strips that come off easily, while Apple on newer models uses adhesive that requires special solvents.
Also, Samsung batteries do not have the complicated software protection that Apple has. There is no "non-genuine battery" warning in the settings, no loss of the Battery Health display. Replace the battery and everything works like factory.
Tips for extending battery life
- Do not charge to 100% every time — it is ideal to keep the battery between 20% and 80%
- Use the original charger — or at least a quality charger with the right wattage
- Avoid constant fast charging — fast charging generates more heat, which degrades the battery
- Do not use the phone while it charges — especially for gaming, because the combination of charging and load creates a lot of heat
- Avoid extreme temperatures — do not leave the phone in the sun or in a frozen car
Frequently asked questions
How long does a battery replacement take on a Samsung?
20-30 minutes for most models. Samsung phones are generally easier to open than iPhones.
Does replacing the battery void the Samsung warranty?
If the phone is under warranty, a battery replacement outside an authorized service center may affect the warranty. We recommend checking your warranty status first.
Why are Samsung batteries cheaper than iPhone batteries?
Samsung does not use the same software protection as Apple, so there is no need for special chips in the battery. The Samsung battery market is also larger and more competitive, which lowers prices.
Can I use the phone right after the replacement?
Yes. After the battery replacement the phone turns on and is ready to use immediately. We recommend charging it to 100% before first using the new battery.
Do you have batteries for all Samsung models?
For popular models (A series, S series) we always keep batteries in stock. For older or rare models a part may need to be ordered — usually 1-2 business days.
