Samsung Galaxy — Most Common Faults and Repair Prices for 2026

Samsung Galaxy phones make up a significant share of the devices that pass through our service every day. From the budget A series to the flagship S and Z models, each line has its own characteristic faults and repair specifics. In this article, we give an overview of the most common problems with Samsung phones, explain what affects repair pricing, and list current prices for all relevant models.

Most Common Faults by Series

Galaxy S Series (S22 — S25)

Flagship models are the most technologically advanced, but also the most expensive to repair. Most common faults:

Screen damage — AMOLED screens on the S series crack even from relatively mild drops, since the glass covers nearly the entire front surface. Curved screens on models before the S25 are especially sensitive to impacts from the side.

Rear glass damage — All S models from the S20 onward have a glass back panel. Replacement is relatively inexpensive compared to the screen.

Battery degradation — The average lifespan of a Samsung battery is similar to Apple devices — around 2 years of intensive use. Replacement cost is between 7,000 and 9,000 RSD depending on the model.

Galaxy A Series (A14 — A56)

The A series is the most common in our service by volume. Faults:

Screen damage — LCD screens on cheaper A models are affordable to replace. AMOLED screens on the A5x series are more expensive, but still significantly cheaper than the S series.

Battery — A series batteries last a long time thanks to the lower screen resolution and less demanding processor, but when it comes time for replacement, prices range from 6,000 to 8,500 RSD.

Charging port — This is a fault specific to the A series. The USB-C port on budget models wears out faster, especially for users who charge the phone while using it. Port replacement is a relatively simple repair.

Galaxy Z Series (Flip and Fold)

Foldable phones come with particular challenges:

Main (inner) screen — This is the most expensive repair on any Samsung phone. Prices for Flip models go up to 48,000 RSD, and for Fold models up to 90,000 RSD for the main screen.

Outer screen — Significantly cheaper, from 11,000 to 20,000 RSD depending on the model.

Hinge — The folding mechanism can start creaking or lose resistance after extended use. This is a complex repair that requires replacing the entire mechanism.

Screen Replacement or Glass Repair — Which to Choose

The same logic applies as with iPhone devices:

  • If the screen displays the image normally and touch response works → glass repair
  • If there are lines, stains, black zones, or touch doesn't work → full screen replacement

The price difference is especially significant with the S series. For example, a Galaxy S24 Ultra screen replacement costs 32,000 RSD, while glass repair on the same model costs 20,000 RSD — a saving of 12,000 RSD while keeping the original AMOLED panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are Samsung screens more expensive than iPhone copy screens, but cheaper than genuine iPhone screens?

Samsung uses its own AMOLED panels, and on the market there is generally only one replacement quality available — the one that comes from the Samsung screen manufacturer. With iPhone, the difference between a copy and an original is large because Apple uses special specifications. That's why Samsung prices are generally fixed per model.

Do Samsung phones show a warning after parts are replaced, like iPhone?

Samsung does not have as aggressive a detection system for non-original parts as Apple. After a screen or battery replacement at our service, the phone functions normally without system warnings.

How long does a Samsung phone repair take?

Screen replacement takes 30–60 minutes. Battery replacement takes 20–40 minutes. Glass repair takes 60–120 minutes. For the Z series (Flip/Fold), repairs may take longer due to the complexity of the construction.

Is it worth repairing older Samsung models (S20, A51)?

It depends on the repair cost and the market value of the device. A Galaxy S20 screen replacement costs 30,000 RSD, which is often more than the phone's market value. In such cases, glass repair (14,000 RSD) or selling the phone as-is may be a more sensible option. For the A series, screens are affordable (8,000–13,000 RSD) and repair is almost always worthwhile.
