When should a phone screen be replaced?
A screen replacement is needed in the following situations:
- Broken glass + damaged display — black blotches, lines on the screen, parts of the screen not responding to touch. In this case a complete screen replacement is needed.
- Only cracked glass, display works — if the screen shows an image normally and responds to touch, a glass repair (OCA lamination) is possible, which is up to 50% cheaper than replacing the whole screen.
- Ghost touch — the screen reacts on its own, opens apps, types letters. The cause is usually a damaged touch digitizer and a screen replacement is needed.
- Green/pink lines — a common problem on OLED screens (especially the Samsung Galaxy S series). Fixed by replacing the screen.
iPhone screens — 5 quality tiers
For the iPhone, we offer 5 different screen tiers with different prices and quality. This is a key difference between shops — many offer only one type and do not explain the difference.
1. InCell LCD (cheapest)
LCD technology that replaces OLED. The cheaper option, good for older models or budget repairs. Slightly weaker colors and contrast compared to the original.
2. InCell OLED (mid-range)
A third-party OLED panel. Better contrast and colors than LCD, but it does not reach the quality of the original. A good balance of price and quality.
3. Refurbished Original
An original Apple display with replaced glass. The display quality is identical to the original because the display panel is original. An excellent option for newer models.
4. Original OEM
A completely new original screen without Apple branding. Identical quality to factory.
5. Genuine Apple (premium)
An original Apple screen with True Tone support and Genuine status in the settings. The most expensive, but identical to factory. Available for the iPhone 12 and newer.

Samsung screens — Original Service Pack
For Samsung Galaxy phones we use original Service Pack panels for the S, Note and Z series. For the A series we use quality replacement AMOLED/LCD panels.

What affects the price of a screen replacement?
- Phone model — newer and more expensive models have more expensive screens
- Screen tier — InCell is the cheapest, Genuine Apple the most expensive
- Technology — OLED screens are more expensive than LCD
- Availability — for the newest models prices can be higher until supply stabilizes
- Samsung vs iPhone — the Samsung S series uses only Service Pack (original) panels, so there is no budget option like on the iPhone
OCA lamination — a cheaper alternative to a screen replacement
If only the glass is cracked and the display underneath works, OCA lamination is a procedure that replaces only the top glass. The saving can be up to 50% compared to replacing the complete screen.
OCA lamination is only possible when:
- The display shows an image normally (no blotches, lines or black zones)
- The touch screen responds to touch correctly
- Only the top protective glass is damaged

How long does a screen replacement take?
A screen replacement takes 2-3 hours for all models. The process involves:
- Free diagnostics and assessment
- Disassembling the phone under controlled conditions
- Screen replacement and calibration
- Testing all functions (touch, True Tone, Face ID, camera)
- Handover with a fiscal receipt and warranty
Warranty on a replaced screen
Every replaced screen comes with a 90-day warranty and a fiscal receipt. The warranty covers:
- Display defects (blotches, dead pixels, lines)
- Touch screen problems
- The glass separating from the display
The warranty does not cover mechanical damage (a new drop, pressure, contact with water).

How much does a phone screen replacement cost?
The price depends on the model and the type of screen. For the iPhone, it ranges from 4,000 RSD (iPhone X InCell) to 87,000 RSD (iPhone 17 Pro Max Genuine Apple). For Samsung, from 6,000 RSD (Galaxy A03) to 90,000 RSD (Galaxy Z Fold7 main screen). All prices include the part, labor and VAT.
Is data lost during a screen replacement?
No. A screen replacement does not affect the data on the phone. All photos, apps and data stay safe. We do not ask for a PIN code or access to your accounts.
Does a replaced screen have the same quality as the original?
It depends on the type of screen you choose. Genuine Apple and Original Service Pack are identical to factory quality. InCell and OLED aftermarket screens are slightly lower in quality but significantly cheaper.
How do I know whether I need a screen replacement or a glass repair?
If the display shows an image normally and responds to touch — only a glass repair is needed. If there are blotches, lines, black zones or it does not respond to touch — a complete screen replacement is needed. Diagnostics at our shop are free.
Do you do screen replacement while I wait?
Yes, for most models you can wait 2-3 hours while we replace the screen. We have a waiting area, WiFi and coffee.

How to choose the right shop for a screen replacement?
We do not recommend choosing a shop by the lowest price alone. Here is what to pay attention to:
1. Transparency of prices and screen types
A professional shop will clearly explain which type of screen they install and why that option is good for your phone. If someone just tells you "a screen for the iPhone 16 costs 15,000" without explaining that it is InCell LCD, not OLED — that is a red flag. At Viper we always explain all the options and differences before you make a decision.
2. Warranty with a fiscal receipt
Every serious shop provides a warranty with a fiscal receipt. A "verbal warranty" or a "warranty on someone's word" is worth nothing. At Viper you get a 90-day warranty with a fiscal receipt for every replaced screen.
3. Experience and reviews

Phone screen replacement in New Belgrade

Screen protection after replacement
After a screen replacement, we recommend protecting the new screen. We offer a hydrogel film for 1,000 RSD that fits the shape of the screen perfectly, or classic tempered glass. Application takes 5 minutes and we can do it right after the screen replacement.
We also recommend a quality case — especially for phones without back-glass protection. The combination of a case + hydrogel/glass significantly reduces the risk of re-damage.
Repair vs buying a new phone
A screen replacement is almost always more cost-effective than buying a new phone. For example, an iPhone 16 Pro Max costs around 200,000 RSD new. A screen replacement with a Genuine Apple screen is 80,000 RSD (40% of the price of a new one), and with an InCell screen just 15,000 RSD (7.5%). Plus, all your data and apps stay intact.
The only case where it is worth considering buying a new one is if the phone is 4-5+ years old and has several faults at the same time. In that case, consider our phone buyback — we buy even faulty phones.

"Will I notice the difference between an InCell and an original screen?" — Yes, there is a difference. InCell screens have slightly weaker colors and contrast, especially in dark scenes. For the average user the difference is acceptable, with a saving of 50-70%. For photographers and designers we recommend a minimum of OLED or ideally Genuine Apple.
"Why is Genuine Apple so much more expensive?" — Genuine Apple screens come with True Tone support, show Genuine status in the settings, and have identical quality to factory. The price difference reflects the difference in quality and certification.
"Does Face ID work after a screen replacement?" — Yes, Face ID keeps working after a screen replacement at a professional shop. We carefully transfer the Face ID modules from the old screen to the new one. This is one of the reasons why it is important to go to an experienced shop.
